Miss World 2008

This is Janina San Miguel who won the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant - well sort of. We gather that she will now be the Philippines entry for Miss World, which will be held in Kiev, Ukraine - but other girls won other titles.

There was a lot of interest in Janina because she mucked up her interview - as you'll see in the video below - but she still went on to win the right to be the Miss. World entrant.

For those that like to know such things Janina San Miguel is a Mass Communications student at the Universtity of the East and is 17. Guess though, judging by the video, that she hasn't quite mastered the communications bit of the course as yet

Zi Lin Zhang - Miss World 2007

China's Zi Lin was born in Shijiazhuan Hebei on 22 March 1984. She went to high school in Beijing and continued her studies at the University of Science and Technology where she attained a degree in business administration in 2006, a year before the contest that saw her reach for the stars and walk away with the glittering prize - the Miss World crown. Zi Lin was working as a company secretary when she entered the pageant.
Zi Lin's hobbies and sporting interests include travel, reading, movies, writing, classical and folk dancing and folk music. She is also a formidable sportswoman. She excels in triple jump and hurdles, and has trained professionally in the 100m hurdles. A keen swimmer, she was the holder of the Sports Advance Distinction Award at university. Zi Lin's personal motto is "Where there's a will there's a way" and that's exactly the sort of determination, and philosophy that makes a Miss World a great Miss World.
Zi Lin's career in modeling started in 2003. In 2006, Zi Lin was short listed as one of the top ten professional supermodels in the Chinese Fashion and Culture Awards and in the same year she appeared in Georgio Armani's autumn/winter show in Paris.
